Aspiring musicians are discovered when they play in public.
Not when you think about it.
Rookie athletes are spotted trying out on the pitch.
Not if they're hiding in the stands.
Inventors are discovered when someone gets their hands on their work.
Not if you have an idea.
Politicians are discovered when their name is on a ballot.
Not if you think you can do better than the incumbent.
Young writers are discovered when they put someone's work in the face.
Not when it's in a drawer.
The next great actor is discovered during an audition.
Not in front of a mirror.
I don't know what your skills or aspirations are.
But if you want to be discovered, you have to take the risk and publish your work there.
It could suck first.
You may get too many rejections to count.
It can be a challenge and it can take years.
And you can just be spotted.
